July 16, 2009 Regular Meeting Agenda Item #35 Item Title Appoint one Board member and one private citizen to serve a one year term on the Value Adjustment Board for term beginning 8/1/09 and ending 7/31/10 Issue/Rationale Florida Statute 194.015 requires that the School Board of each county annually elect one person from its membership to serve a one year term on the Value Adjustment Board.  Additionally, the School Board must appoint a citizen member of the Value Adjustment Board, which citizen must own a business occupaying commercial space loacted within the school district. Recommended Action Elect one Board member to serve on the Value Adjustment Board and appoint one private citizen who meets the statutory qualifications to serve on the Value Adjustment Board.
